BANI - lamp

I developed this concept in 2005, back from an unforgettable trip to South Africa.

I Always loved african batik: the shapes and the amazing colours of the nature. After I noticed how the colours where so much brighter and intense with light going through,  I found some ones that where perfect for an atmosphere lamp, with different background colours (white, yellow, orange, red) and very similar dimensions.

The structure is mainly painted wood and the assembly system very simple: the four wooden frames are connected together, and to the base, with four "L" alluminum profiles. No screws are used: the lamp can be very simply assembled and disassembled many times.

"Bani", in the Zulu language, is one of the words used to indicate the light.
